Equine Career Network was built to connect job seekers, employers and entrepreneurs in the equine industry. Our focus is not on jobs within a barn, but rather on careers with horse related companies and organizations. Our goal is to be a resource for those on the hunt for a job in the industry, while also providing experiences and perspective from those that are shaping it today.

Check out our resolutions for 2017!

Kelsey Sullivan – cookie connoisseur by day and amateur miniature donkey wrangler by night

575249_1669693905817_80678907_n-300x202Kelsey Sullivan grew up in Westfield, NJ and attended The Lawrenceville School before choosing Elon University for her undergraduate degree.  After graduating with a B.A. in Human Service Studies she decided to continue on to pursue her M.A. in Interactive Media.

She grew up riding horses and volunteering for various domestic and international nonprofits, so throughout graduate school she looked to combine several of her biggest passions: horses, nonprofits and interactive media. Originally a photographer, Kelsey has expanded her interests and skills to various other types of digital media, and has built several horse related websites including Equine Nonprofit Network (NC) and Equine Grants.

Her passion is for web marketing strategy and community building through digital media. Kelsey’s post graduate career took her away from horses and animals (into food, yum), but she recently life has brought her back to her first love: horses. She spends her spare time working with small businesses (particularly horse businesses) to build their web presence and market their businesses.

Kaitlyn Zaleski Thoroughbred enthusiast, bookworm, and California transplant

Kaitlyn grew up in New Jersey and earned an A.A. in English Equestrian Studies at the University of Findlay in Ohio before completing her B.S. in Animal Sciences with a focus on business at the Pennsylvania State University in 2010. A lifelong rider, Kaitlyn has always known that horses would always play a role in her life both personally and professionally.

During her college years, Kaitlyn began to explore career opportunities that would allow her to remain involved with the industry she had grown to love. Shortly after graduation, she picked up and moved from New Jersey to Texas for a 4 month internship with a positive attitude, determination, and as much “stuff” as she could fit in her Jeep. That internship opened many doors that have shaped her career so far, and continues to do so each day.

Forever grateful to those that have invested in her own career growth, she is excited to build Equine Career Network as a medium to connect young professionals with those who have built successful careers in the equine industry and companies that seek talented and motivated employees.
